Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator, who works as a commentator for NBC News in Washington D.C. She is also a television anchor. She earned an undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. Mitchell began working as a TV and radio reporter for Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. 1996, she joined WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). In the following two years, she joined NBC News as a Washington correspondent. From 1981 onwards she began covering the White House. In 1988, she became chief congressional reporter. She was made as the head White House correspondent by NBC News, in 1992. Mitchell appeared as both an anchor and a panelist on the TV news program Meet the Press. Mitchell was a panelist during 1988's presidential debates, that pitted George Bush against Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has been awarded numerous times for her journalism achievements, such as her Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. The award was presented to her by the Leonard Zeidenberg Award presented by the Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell was the first reporter to report on White House stories for NBC News during Ronald Reagan's tenure as president from 1981-1988. Mitchell was a reporter on a range of noteworthy stories, such as the Iran-Contra scandal, the tax reforms to the budget and arms control. She traveled with Ronald Reagan several times to attend summits and discuss topics such as and the Iran Contra scandal.
